Photographs from three significant bodies of work by celebrated photographer Robert Polidori are reproduced in this sixty page catalogue: images of the colonial architecture of Goa, India; the formerly splendid but decaying mansions of Havana, Cuba; and the comprehensive restoration of the palace of Versailles. Polidori's images, which are in the Victoria & Albert, the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art among many other renowned collections, are examined in a thoughtful essay by scholar Kelley E. Wilder, senior research fellow in photographic history and practice at De Montfort University in Leicester.
