The New York debut of painter Jane Lee, one of Singapore’s most lauded young contemporary artists, is chronicled in this 40-page catalogue, which accompanies the exhibition Jane Lee: Beyond (Sundaram Tagore New York, April 2012). Ten works produced in 2011/2012 are featured. An essay by Tony Godfrey, author of Painting Today (Phaidon, 2009) and former director of research at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, details Lee’s unique techniques and use of materials—as well as explains her place within the larger context of contemporary Asian art.
