新聞稿

Please join Miya Ando for cocktails and a book signing.

Published by The MIT Press, Water of the Sky: A Dictionary of 2,000 Japanese Rain Words, which Ando wrote and illustrated, is a compendium of Japanese words for rain and their English interpretations accompanied by one hundred drawings in indigo. Reflecting her keen powers of observation, Ando’s illustrations beautifully embody and imagine each rain’s precise and essential quality.

A selection of paintings from the artist’s indigo series will be on view in the gallery. The series will be the focus of an upcoming solo exhibition slated for the fall of 2026 at Sundaram Tagore New York.
