One of the most influential photographers working today, Sebastião Salgado’s is acclaimed worldwide for his breathtaking landscapes, images of endangered wildlife and documentary projects on indigenous peoples. He lays bare, with intense humanity and sensitivity, inequality and the fragility of the natural world.

 

Over a 50–year career, the Brazilian-born artist has been the subject of numerous books and films. His work has been exhibited in hundreds of museums and cultural institutions worldwide and is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Getty Museum, among others.

 

This exhibition includes images from Genesis, his epic series that’s been called a love letter to the Earth.
