About This Exhibition

In conjunction with Kuwait, on display at Sundaram Tagore Chelsea, Sundaram Tagore Madison Ave presents a selection of photographs from Sebastião Salgado's legendary series Genesis.

After the harrowing journey of Exodus, Salgado returned to his native Brazil utterly demoralized. However, his photography enabled him to discover what fragments of the world had escaped the destruction of man, and along with it, a chance for humanity’s redemption. In his nearly decade-long Genesis series, he chronicled pristine landscapes, wildlife and remote tribes, bearing witness to the endlessly repeating cycles of life.
