簡介

新加坡藝術家Jane Lee (李綾瑄) 以先進的技術及創新的創作素材而聞名。她細心地探討畫作中的每一角色-畫框的橫木、畫布及顏料,並為它們構思出全新的運用方式。

 

她的作品表面立體,極具觸覺,甚至可視為雕塑。在某部分創作中,李氏會讓顏料直接伸延至畫框上,形成中空的三維形態,底部的顏料因為重力作用而自然向下墜。另外,李氏並會以純熟的技術製成會移動的作品:它們會跌倒、攤開、掛起或下垂,形同生活中的日常物品如水喉、地毯或門。

 

生長於後殖民地東南亞背景下,Lee重新審視西方繪畫的重要性,同時宣稱自己的文化。她的創作不受作品素材的限制,反映出全球化時代中文化界限的分解,確認當代藝術的普遍性。

 

李氏的大型裝置Raw Canvas獲展出於2008年的新加坡雙年展,由Fumio Nanjo策展,因而開始獲關注,裝置後來於2009年展出於立陶宛維爾紐斯維爾紐斯當代藝術中心,由Simon Rees策展的Code Share: 5 Continents, 10 Biennales, 20 Artists藝術展。 李氏的創作後來展出於世界各地,其中包括2011年新加坡藝術博物館的收藏家展覽,和2014年新加坡Art Stage藝術節舉辦的東南亞嶄新藝術平台。 2014至2015年,李氏的創作獲重點展出於新加坡藝術博物館Medium at Large藝術展,展期長達一年,其大型裝置藝術Status (2009年),更成為該館的永久館藏。 2015年,她的作品獲新加坡大型當代藝術展Prudential Eye 評議小組選出,於藝術科學博物館舉行展覽。同年,李氏也參與了第56屆威尼斯國際藝術雙年展官方延伸展覽Frontiers Reimagined

 

李綾瑄曾獲無數獎項,包括2011年紐約的「蔚藍」藝術獎。她是2007年索夫林杰出藝術獎的入圍決賽者。同年,她成為首位國際藝術駐地交流計畫藝術獎的獲獎者。 李氏於新加坡拉薩爾藝術學院取得藝術學士學位及時裝設計文憑。她曾參與亞洲及歐洲無數博物館、畫廊的畫展,當中包括香港藝術中心,和立陶宛維爾紐斯的當代藝術中心。
